No more idiot box

Continuing its effort to improve its quality of telecasting programs, our television channels are stepping towards new trend. Once Television was called an idiot box, because it’s boring and usual programs. Doordarshan was the only channel throughout India at that times, but it provided us a good set of programs like turning point, Mahabharat, Ramayan, etc...With Mahabharat every Sunday morning, people like me came to know about Mahabharat only after watching it on Sunday morning. Now its gone too far from the past with more than 250 channels through the country. There are separate channels for music, adventure, fashion, history, news and so on .There are interesting programs too, and recently planet earth in discovery channel was an amazing program that unraveled us more about our own planet and there are lot of such programs like naked science, natural world ,seconds from disaster, Saturday night special etc..Which are really worth youth .even though there are some Indian channels still telecasting more than 15-20 serials a day ,its reserved to our Indian house wives not for the youngsters. Technology advancing so much rapidly these days, youth cannot afford time by watching interviews of stars and movie reviews. Are Indians giving more importance to movies? The answer is yes .There are people who watch all Movies releasing every now and then .when it comes to movies we are really lagging behind with same set of scripts circling again and again .more than 90% of all Indian movies are love stories of a boy and girl initially love but have some problem in the middle and finally happy ending, therefore waste of time .hence idiot box is too old saying about television and now its the movies that should take the throne, Idiot screen.
