Kadal Movie : Review

For last two weeks there has been many reviews about kadal. I have listened very very few positive reviews. Even though my friends told me its not like a Mani Rathnam's movie ! I was just waiting to watch the movie in spite of all the negative reviews on news papers and reviews on the net . But I always trusted Mani and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie ! some of them said it is like reading a novel and that is true.

From the beginning I always had this thought why Mani doesn't often do any movie based on people below poverty line. I always expected how is he going to handle and which subject he might choose if he makes a story about below poverty. My first comment about kadal is "the movie is about an emotional travel from the beginning to end". The characters are portrayed realistic. And of course the story has the two pillars Aravind swamy and Arjun. It is a movie about good and bad and who win finally. I heard a review that the movie is "dragging" and I could understand that, after watching all the masala movies for decades we expect scripts to be racy. If the script is not racy then we point out screen play is not good :) !  The movie has been screen played so that the emotion has been carefully taken forward with every scene. A scene when Tom tells Bea that he has made lots of sins and has killed many people she simply replies "don't do it here after !" good can be done any time and right away ! And we cant forget Aravind Swamy and Arjun ! both of them being senior actors have given their best ! Like they say beauty is in the eyes of beholder if we see all movies as entertainment movies then its time to think again. From my point of view the movie is inspirational.
